“Every child is different and responds differently to treatment. One can’t see treatments as a ‘cookie-cutter’ approach, but one that needs to be modified and even changed to include other therapeutic approaches to fit the patient in need,” says Christina Skuburdis, MS, CCC-SLP. “The therapist must be observant. In my experience, there is no problematic patient, only a therapist not taking more time to understand the patient and also educate the caregivers to do the same.”
